Self Portrait: A Year in the Life 2022/2023
This is a text besed series of four panels and each panel represents a season. I started by writing text on the paper. The text is of my thoughts and feelings during the time that I was making thw work. Once the canvas was filled with text I drew and painted a tree over the text to reprsent the season, hense making the text illegible. It is meant to represent a year of my life, however the series took much longer to complete because of the passing of my father. It also made me realize that time isn't linear, it is created by our experiences and how we respond to our circumstances.
Each Panel is five feet long which is my height as each is a representation of me during a certain time period
