Self Portrait: A Year in the Life 2022/2023
This is a text based series of four panels and each panel represents a season. I started by writing text on the paper. The text is of my thoughts and feelings during the time that I was making the work. Once the canvas was filled with text I drew and painted a tree over the text to represent the season, hence making the text illegible. It is meant to represent a year of my life, however the series took much longer tocomplete because of the passing of my father. It also made me realize that time isn't linear, it is created by our experiences and how we respond to our circumstances
The panels are five feet high because that is my height
